Dale Julian-Bierce
Dale is the founding Director of The West Side Dance Center. She has been a dance and fitness professional for over 30 years. As many of her students, she began dancing at age 3 and spent 6 years in dance classes until she became a competitive gymnast. While attending college she returned to dance and was member of Kutztown University’s Dance Company. As a dance instructor through the years she developed hip hop programs and taught Jazz and Tap in various area studios before opening WSDC. As a choreographer her dance groups won awards at regional competitions, and have performed in the International Dance Showcase at Walt Disney World; Magic Kingdom & EPCOT, Sea World, Cypress Gardens and the Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Majesty-Stars At Sea. She has also choreographed for various theatre companies in the area. Dale is the Artistic Director of the NextStep Dance company, a pre-professional youth dance company focusing on giving back to the community and to those less fortunate by providing funding for charitable organizations through charity benefit performances. Dale has a BFA and was a graphic designer/art director for 20 years before opening WSDC. ![]()
Laurie LaSapio
Laurie LaSapio has been dancing since the age of three. At the age of eight she began competing and continued competing through high school. She received special awards in showmanship and top soloist honors. In 1991 she was on the USA Tap team that competed internationally. Miss Laurie has been teaching at WSDC since it opened in 2001 where she teaches dance to students ages 3 yrs – Adult. As a choreographer for WSDC's Performing Troupe, her dances have won numerous awards including judges recognition, choreogrpahy and overall awards at regional competitions. She has also choreographed for numerous plays as well as gymnastics teams. Miss Laurie ontinues her professional development in NYC. ![]()
Cydny Voicechovski
Cydny’s passion and creativity for the performing arts is limitless. She is a professional dancer, choreographer, model, and entrepreneur. Cydny has over 25 years of dance experience. She has performed at the NJ Prudential Center Arena as Captain for he NHL NJ Devils dance team, MISL NJ Ironmen dance team, and Director of Main Events Boxings dance team. Outside of the arena Cydny has performed with Moldova’s well known singer/songwriter “Dan Balan” as well as numerous performing artists around the country. She has also performed and choreographed for various television/commercial/industrial events throughout the tri-state area performing with “Sammy Hagar and the Cabo Wabos” to choreographing and performing for Latin artist “Talentino.” Outside of dance, Cydny's career has expanded to modeling and acting, being featured in Latina Magazine and Harley Davidson catalog; as well as lead actress for online web commercial, "The Lash" spiced rum. She continues to pursue her performance career while sharing her knowledge to the aspiring dancer, teaching all levels and ages of children. ![]()
Megan Perry
Megan is an energetic professional with over 10 years of experience as an instructor and choreographer. Megan has been a dancer since the age of 2 and has experience dancing at the competitive level winning many awards. As a young dancer Megan had the opportunity to dance with dance professionals such as Savion Glover, Frank Hatchett, David Howard, Rhapsody, Chio, Brian Friedman. Megan has a degree in Theater Arts with a concentration in management and dance. As a student, Megan created the Dance club, was a choreographer for student dance concerts and the theatre production of "Godspell". She worked with the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, the R2 Dance Company, and the Mark Morris Dance Company. After graduating she was an Adjunct professor teaching dance. In 2010 Megan started working at the West Side Dance Center and has loved every minute of it. West Side has given her the opportunity to choreograph at the competitive level and has become her second home. She appreciates the love and talent every student at West Side possesses. ![]()
Andrea Deventer
Andrea Deventer has been teaching and choreographing dance in NY/NJ for over 25 years. She has successfully developed modern dance programs at numerous studios in the area including WSDC where she has been teaching since 2001. She has been director of the dance program at Morristown Beard School in Morristown, NJthat she created in 1998. Andrea has performed professionally with several dance companies including Philadanco, Danny Sloan Dance Company, Paradigm Dance, Beyond Dance, Inc! and The Choreographers Collective. Her choreography has been shown at the Bickford Theater, Drew University, Monroe Street Movement Space in Hoboken, the Next Stage Dancespace in NYC as well as several other venues in the metropolitan area. ![]()
Christina Paolucci-Duncan
Christina Paolucci is a passionate and committed instructor of safe and properly executed classical ballet technique. She grew up in Boston, MA and trained at Boston Ballet School, performing with Boston Ballet while still in high school. After graduating from Juilliard with a BFA in dance, she joined New York Theatre Ballet, performing principal roles in the company’s repertory. In addition to guest appearances with other companies, she performed in 49 states during her performing career. Christina was artistic associate of The Tallahassee Ballet and is the former Executive Director of New York Theatre Ballet. She has staged ballets, commissioned new choreography, and provided successful artistic and fundraising consultation to emerging dancers, dance companies and aspiring choreographers. She had a senior faculty position at Ballet School NY and currently lives in New Jersey. She is on the faculty of West Side Dance Center and is an Adjunct Professor of ballet at County College of Morris and Montclair State University. Christina’s teaches master classes across the country and advises dancers to strive to be their best. She is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique and is a StretchSource™ Master Trainer. ![]()
Adam DiLoreto
Born and raised in Canada, Adam began studying dance at the age of 13. He furthered his ballet training while working with the Oakville Ballet Company. At 18, Adam began working at Tokyo Disney, later transferring to Disneyland in California. He performed in numerous shows and was Dance Captain for the company in both the U.S. and Japan. After relocating to LA, Adam had the privilege of assisting Doug Caldwell, Malaya, Terri Best and Denise Leither. Adam later joined Rasta Thomas' Bad Boys of Dance performing in "Romeo & Juliet" throughout Europe. Adam finished his 8th season with The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and worked on The Radio City New York Summer Spectacular where he was the dance assistant to choreographer/director Mia Michaels. Adam has worked along side of American Idol alumni Jon Peter Lewis performing in Deep Love at the New York Musical Festival. Since moving to New York, Adam has had the privilege of working with Broadway Choreographer Josh Rhodes, and Tony Award Winner Chris Gattelli, to name a few. He is currently choreographing pieces for the Australian production company Running Man, who has premiered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Adam is a Sponsored Athlete with Capezio and resides in New York City. ![]()
Molly Bierce
Originally from Succasunna, NJ Molly started dancing at age 3 at WSDC until age 18. She trained in all genres of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern & Contemporary. She began assisting in dance classes at age 14 and taught her own classes through high school while attending the Academy of Visual Performing Arts at the Morris County School of Technology. She was a member of the NHSDA, NHS, NTHS and the NJ Governors School of the Arts nominee. She danced competitively throughout her dance education and won numerous awards and scholarships. In college Molly was a dance captain on the top five nationally ranked University of Massachusetts' Dance Team where she was awarded 2 consecutive NDA D1 All American Dance Awards. She presently teaches dance at studios in the area and continues to train in NYC. ![]()
Brittany Hoehlein
Brittany is a dedicated and lively dance and movement professional. A dancer since the age of 3, she has experience at the recreational, competitive, and professional level. Brittany had the opportunity to grow as a performer at a young age as a member in the off-Broadway cast of “Count to Ten” the musical in NYC. Brittany then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from James Madison University. As a student, Brittany was a member of the Virginia Repertory Dance Company and the Contemporary Dance Ensemble. These companies provided her with the privilege of dancing with countless renowned artists including Julio Agustin Matos Jr., Wei Chen, Laurie Eisenhower, Liz Lerman, Tzveta Kassabova, and Ryan Corriston. Brittany has performed at various venues around the country as well as parts of Asia including Bejing and Sichuan Province. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Rutgers University and loves merging her two passions for movement and helping individuals reach their fullest potential seamlessly. Brittany has been on faculty with WSDC since 2014 and she continues to passionately share her knowledge and love for dance with her students. ![]()
Erick Rios
Erick Rios moved to New Jersey from Orlando Florida to be closer to New York City in order to pursue his dance career. He trains all over NYC in many different styles of hip hop; from popping and locking to breakdancing and choreography. A big part of his dance training was with Project D dance company where he was a member from 2014 to 2017. During that time he performed and competed in Boston, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and California. Erick has also performed at Raw Artist showcase in New York and Philadelphia. He has choreographed and showcased his work at Sybarite, performed in music videos and danced for various artists in New York and Florida. His strongest passion is in teaching others. As a teacher for the past 5 years and has taught all over NJ and NY, from kids to adults all levels. His goal is not just to teach dance moves but to challenge his students and push them beyond what they think their limit is and, in the process, have fun. ![]()
Alison Medina
Alison is a graduate of County College of Morris with an Associates Degree in Dance. She began dancing at the age of two. Through the years she concentrated on ballet, pointé, and contemporary. In college she studied modern, jazz, and the art of choreography. Alison has perfomed in various shows and participated in workshops; Morris County Teen Arts, Amercan College Dance Festival Association, to name a few. Her choreogrpahy has been showcased in CCM productions, regional dance competitions and studio showcases. Alison is working towards a professional dance career. ![]()
Rachel Carina
Born in New Jersey, Rachel began her formal training at the age of twelve. She studied privately under the guidance of Michael Shannon and Sarah Knight before attending the New Jersey School of Ballet for three ysars. At the age of 16, Rachel received a full scholarship to the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida where she studied classical, contemporary, modern, and folk dance. At the conservatory Rachel also had the opportunity to study Pedagogy under Victoria Schneider, a graduate of the Vaganova Academy of Ballet's Pedagogy School. Upon graduation, Rachel continued her studies at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre where she performed alongside the company as as Trainee. Rachel joined the New Jersey Ballet Company as as supplemental artist in 2013 and was a guest artist with the Gainesville Ballet and the Victoria Ballet Theatre. In 2014 she joined the New Jersey Ballet Company full-time and has been dancing there ever since. In addition to corps de ballet roles in most classical ballets, Rachel has also performed soloist roles in Paquita, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty amongst others. She has been teaching for over five years between Pittsburgh and her home state of New Jersey. She incorporates her knowledge of the Vaganova technique and strains the importance of the art of dance in her students. ![]()
Leah Suskind
Born and raised in Randolph, NJ, Leah started dancing at age 3 and presently attends Morris County School of Technology as a dance major in the Academy for Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA). Outside of school, Leah trains at the West Side Dance Center where she studies ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, tap and hip hop. She is a member of the WSDC Performing Troupe as well as a principal dancer with the NextStep Dance Company. For the past 3 years she has attended a number of summer intensives including Carolyn Dorfman, the Juilliard School, Rockette Summer, RIOULT Dance Company and NYU’S Tish Summer Intensives. Her performing opportunities inclulde; Backstage is Onstage and May Dance annual concerts, World Voices in Motion at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and DanceNJ Show Up & Dance. Leah is a member of the NHSDA, NHS, NTHS, NJ Governors School of the Arts nominee and National Finalist of the 2018 NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award. ![]()
Andrij Cybyk
Andrij Cybyk is an American by birth, Ukrainian by heritage and gypsy at heart. A graduate of the Virksi School of Academic Ukrainian Dance in Kyiv, Ukraine, and a long time student of Roma Pryma Bohachevsky, he is well known as a dancer, teacher and choreographer in various styles of contemporary and traditional dance. As a dancer, he has toured the country and the world with companies like AllNations, Michael Mao Dance, Nai-Ni Chen, the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, Barynya and, most recently, with the American, European and Corporate Event companies of Riverdance. He has been featured as a guest artist with the New Jersey Ballet, Northwest Florida Ballet, Montgomery Ballet, Mobile Ballet, Connecticut Ballet, Anglo-American Ballet, Brighton Ballet, and the Shore Ballet companies. Additionally, Andrij was featured in Indianapolis City Ballet’s, “An Evening with the Stars”. As a teacher, he has taught workshops in New York City, upstate New York, New Jersey, Texas, China, Aruba, Taiwan and Brazil. He is currently the Artistic Director for the Iskra Ukrainian Dance Ensemble and Academy in Whippany, New Jersey and the Tsvitka Ukrainian Dance Academy in Rockland County, NY. |
